Through the efforts of Match.com, singles who share the same interest with zombie apocalypse "The Walking Dead" will soon get the chance to meet each other. The series' fans would be able to take part in ‘viewing parties' on site and meet other singles who also take pleasure in the zombie-killing fare.
Match.com CEO Mandy Ginsberg explained that they have realized that singles in America these days can connect at each other the most would be the shows that they love watching. "We wanted to figure out how to replicate what's happening in the real world on the Match site and on the app," she said.
Variety reports that with the "The Walking Dead" midseason premiere being aired, Match.com will then invite its subscribers to talk about the series in a live online viewing party where they can choose either replying to the group message or send private messages to others. "The Walking Dead" returns Feb. 12 for the rest of season 7 at 9 PM ET on AMC.
Ginsberg went on to say that connecting Match.com singles over the hit "The Walking Dead" series would be a great excitement for them and believes that it could change the course when it comes to starting real tête-à-tête. This effort intends to reflect the transformation in modern dating and how new relationships these days are shammed.
Following the successful test runs on the past episodes of "Scandal" and "The Walking Dead" where about 80 percent of people at the party stayed longer for the whole hour-long telecast, Match.com realized that they should host viewing parties for significant episodes of the popular zombie apocalypse series. These results leads Match.com to integrate more TV shows into their user experience helping singles to connect in the entertainment-led-society that people currently live in.
Match.com will soon reveal the TV shows that will receive the viewing party treatment. So, for singles who want to have their own ‘Richonne' pair, this will be your best chance to find your future love. Who knows!
