"Trainers, "Pokémon GO" is being updated to version 0.57.3 for Android and 1.27.3 for iOS to implement performance improvements," reads Niantic's official Twitter page. Although Niantic offered no further details on the "Pokemon Go" 1.27.3 and 0.57.3 for iOS and Android versions, there have been reports that it will most likely include a few behind the scenes tweaks to patch up issues that players have been experiencing with the game in the past few weeks particularly the iOS users that have reported game crashing following the release of Gen 2 Pokemon.

Moreover, there are also players that have encountered odd glitches where the "Pokemon Go" app doesn't up appropriately showing no icons in the mid-screen of the app. Android users have also complained that the game has been occupying more RAM leading fans to assume that the update for "Pokemon Go" 1.27.3 and 0.57.3 for iOS and Android versions are intended to fix most of these technical issues that currently troubles the game.

Meanwhile, Niantic also said that "Pokemon Go" users have ‘collectively walked' about 200,000 trips around the globe searching for Pokemon and players have captured 88 billion Pokemon that comes out around 533 million each day. The previous update on the other hand, introduced 80 more Pokemon that were discovered originally in the Johto region on the Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver games.

Apart from the release of "Pokemon Go" 1.27.3 and 0.57.3 for iOS and Android versions, Niantic also announced that it will celebrate Pokemon Day on Feb. 27 marking the occasion with special Pikachu appearing in the game wearing festive party hats.
