Good news for those who are rocking a Windows Phone handset, and the folks who are planning to pick up a Windows Phone 8 device in the coming months. Instagram, the popular photography application is coming to the platform, though it is not sure if it will support both Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8.

In a recent PureMotion promotional video released by Nokia, one could clearly see what appears to be an Instagram Live Tile at the top right hand corner of the Lumia 920 display. It is not certain what features the app will support. However, it would be such a shame if it doesn't support the camera functionality that was demonstrated at the Nokia event on September 5.

Microsoft has been hell bent on getting the popular Android and iOS applications to come to the Windows Phone platform, and so far, the daunting task has been slowly paying off. Instagram making its debut on Windows Phone is not a big surprise, because not too long ago Facebook bought Intstagram, and if you were following up whatever happens in and outside of Facebook, you would realize that Microsoft bought shares in the world's No.1 social network.

It is highly likely that Instagram could debut exclusively for the Nokia Lumia devices before the app is available on every other Windows Phone-based device. This has been the trend of late for popular applications, which is one of the many reasons why the Lumia has become the handset to get if you are planning to take the plunge in the Windows Phone ecosystem.

Expect Instagram to hit Windows Phone before the beginning of 2013.
