After Ubisoft released Patch 1.11 last week for "Watch Dogs 2", players discovered a mystery quest hidden inside the game. Players investigated the said quest, explored every nook and cranny and even mined the game's code to look for more information about The Shuffler.
The patch is added by Ubisoft to prepare "Watch Dogs 2" for the upcoming downloadable content. According to EpicStreamMan, who is one of those who investigated the quest, they "started hearing rumblings of weird text conversations between NPCs, Kotaku reported.
"Four in-game teenager characters who call themselves "Shuffler hunters" went on missing. Another investigative player named Manic posted on the game's official Tumblr account who confirmed the players' suspicions that a mystery is now in the air.
The posts told about The Shuffler who is an urban legend character and those who have a deeper knowledge about it allegedly lost their minds. The posts also say that the character is real. Redditors discovered later that the missing teenagers went AWOL while investigating about The Shuffler.
Afterwards, they discovered devilish-looking graffiti in "Watch Dogs 2" Oakland. Players later heard strange noises, and when they looked through their phones, there were clues revealed about the lost teenagers' story.
Right now, players are waiting for Ubisoft to drop another clue. The mysterious quest has enlivened "Watch Dogs 2" gaming community. "I don't think anyone really expected something like this," says TealSummerNights. Players are on ears to the in-game radio stations, checking every place and even digging through the game's code for another hint.
In September last year, players solved the game's first alternate reality quest in just in a matter of days. A fan called Skauron who played the game twice is now approaching the game differently. It appears that his excitement is reenergized by this surprise quest.
"Watch Dogs 2" is an open world action-adventure video game launched on November 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Its latest DLC dubbed Human Conditions was launched on Feb. 21.
