March will bring in four free titles for Xbox Live subscribers. Once again, the Games with Gold program will offer two indie-style games paired with AAA titles "Evolve" and "Borderlands 2," for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Horror game "Layers of Fear" will kick off next month's free Games with Gold for Xbox One, available for free downloads throughout March. Next up is "Borderlands 2," available only through March 15 for both Xbox One and Xbox 360. The lineup will be shuffled on March 16 with Turtle Rock's "Evolve: Ultimate Edition" until April 15. Along with it is "Heavy Weapon," available through the end of March.

"Evolve"

Adding "Evolve" to the Games with Gold lineup might be an attempt to make the game more appealing to audiences. To recall, the game was officially abandoned by Turtle Rock Studios and publisher 2K Games in 2016. The game received an average 74 aggregate review score on Metacritic.

"Borderlands 2"

The addition of "Borderlands 2" to the free Games with Gold list is quite interesting, considering it was recently given the HD re-release for Xbox One as part of the "Handsome Jack Collection." The shooter is where Gearbox Software succeeded in offering an AAA gameplay experience in 2013.

"Layers of Fear"

The Games with Gold lineup is even better with "Layers of Fear," a horror title from developer Bloober Team. The puzzle is only five hours long, but in it are scares and mysteries that will challenge players.

"Heavy Weapon"

Gamers who long for a classic arcade shoot 'em up will be happy with "Heavy Weapon," a throwback title from PopCap Games. Players will take charge of an atomic tank throughout 19 missions to defeat Soviet Union forces.
