Square Enix recently released a new trailer titled "NieR: Automata - Arsenal of Elegant Destruction." The video originally displayed a March 10 release date for PC. However, the developer quickly removed the video and uploaded it again displaying only the PS4 release date. The highly-anticipated "NieR: Automata" will release on PlayStation 4 in North America on March 7. It will also be released on PC via Steam though the developer hasn't officially confirmed the PC release date for the game.
Only Gematsu's YouTube channel still has the video that has been shared below. It is unknown why developer Platinum Games removed the video showcasing the PC release date. Could that mean it won't come to PC anytime soon? The European PS4 release date is also on March 10 and it is highly possible that the developer messed up the dates. Again, it's also possible that "NieR: Automata" PC will release on that date and the developer simply does not want fans to know that. This is unlikely though, writes Destructoid.
The video has showed off "NieR: Automata" combo system, weapons and other interesting nuggets. The four weapon types are small swords, large swords, spears and combat bracers. These weapons unlock as and when there are upgrades to a player's Pod Support System. In order to maximize the range of abilities and effectiveness, players will be able to switch main character 2B's weapons mid-combo. According to Heavy, players either hold "NiER" in high regard or simply don't want to play it again.
"NiER" has developed its own fan base and cult following since its launch. The game was appreciated by many for its mix of various play styles, sensational music and mature storytelling. This has led Square Enix to come up with "NieR: Automata," and this time it's Platinum Games, who will try and take the combat to a higher level to stand out from its predecessors. The game will be more action-packed and will feature stunning music and a deep plot.
