"Metal Gear" players are aware of the fact that this year is a big one for the franchise, as it's the 30th anniversary of the game, originally developed by Konami. The game franchise will be completing its 30 years on July 13. Even though there is a lack of updates on the game, fans are excited and curious to see what Konami does to commemorate the 30 years. The franchise has been riddled with controversy, especially after Hideo Kojima and few other pivotal members of the development team left. However, despite their exit, Konami somehow managed.

According to Mobi Picker, Konami may have a surprise planned for the fans of the "Metal Gear" franchise. Of course "Metal Gear Survive" is coming but that's about it. Konami hasn't released further details. There are two possibilities as of now as to what Konami will do to celebrate 30 years of the franchise. It will either announce a brand new installment after "Metal Gear Survive" or rerelease "Metal Gear Solid" games on mainstream platforms and consoles. In a July 2016 report, Reddit user Ben, who was handling social media for Konami, also revealed that the company is planning something big.

However, as long as Konami confirms the reports, there is no need to upbeat. Meanwhile, Collider has revealed that the "Metal Gear" movie is very much happening. Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts told the website that "Metal Gear Solid" is probably the most-important franchise to him in the world. He also revealed that he has met Hideo Kojima and it was "like a dream." The movie script is under development.

"That is a property that I will fight tooth and nail to make sure is done properly because it's so easy to s---w it up and so easy for a studio to try and make it into 'G.I. Joe' or try and make it into 'Mission: Impossible' or try and make it into something that it's not. 'Metal Gear Solid' needs to be exactly what it needs to be, which is 'Metal Gear Solid,'" Vogt-Roberts stated.

Referring to Kojima, he said that "Metal Gear Solid" is unique and has essentially one voice. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on the games and the movie.
