Nokia is not the only company launching Windows Phone 8 devices. HTC is launching the HTC Accord smartphone.
A document posted via Twitter apparently provides a quick overview of the phone, called "Your Windows Phone 8X by HTC." In the typical style of HTC's starter documents bunded with its phones, the doument provides a diagram of the basic buttons and the functions on the device.
A render of the device came from the same source in August. In a style similar to the current document, it showed a purple device and the purple color scheme for Windows Phone's start screen. The post claimed that the device will sport a 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 dual-core S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, and an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit. 4G LTE support is also apparently included, along with a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 display at 720p, an 8-megapixel camera supporting 1080p video recording, 8 or 16GB of storage, and MicroSD and NFC support.
Recent rumors claimed that Microsoft will launch Windows Phone 8 this October, with devices for the mobile OS arriving a couple of weeks into November. Conflicting rumors claimed that HTC will launch the Accord/8X this month, cramming the already-busy fall schedule for tech consumers and media.
Nokia is also expected to unveil Windows Phone devices. The devices look to move away from the form factor of the Lumia devices; instead, that brand of phones is getting a successor for Windows Phone 7.8. The 7.8 upgrade brings the new Windows Phone 8 start screen to devices but nothing more, due to the Windows NT Kernel in Windows Phone 8.
Windows Phone 8 release date is to be announced. Microsoft and Nokia are hosting an event Wednesday, Sept. 5, and Mobilenapps.com will be providing the latest coverage on the event as it happens.
