Marvel Cinematic Universe mostly has an inevitable success rate for all its superhero movies. This is a reason why the showrunners cast the actors for multiple sequel roles from the start. But, the same was not true for Michael Douglas, until now. Recent reports note that the actor is said to reprise his iconic role in the upcoming "Ant-Man 2."

Douglas who portrayed the role of the first "Ant-Man," Hank Pym has been signed for the next sequel titled, "Ant-Man and the Wasp." The news was updated on his social media account where he confirmed that he is coming back for the sequel.

In an interview with Collider, Douglas stated that he was contacted by the MCU showrunners about "Ant-Man 2." He further added that his role might not be among the main cast in the sequel, but he would enjoy the role anyways.

According to sources, Douglas has been spotted with his Pym-style goatee which confirms his statement further. Douglas will return as Dr. Hank Pym supporting the characters of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) who will return as "Ant-Man" and "The Wasp" respectively.

By the looks of the post-credit scene in the first "Ant-Man," we see that Dr. Pym presents Hope with her very own Wasp superhero suit. This hints the audience of her major upcoming role in the "Ant-Man 2"

MCU is set to release three new movies this year namely, "Thor: Ragnarok," Spider-Man: Homecoming," and "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2." On the other hand, "Ant-Man 2" is expected to release on July 6th, 2018 with "Black Panther" and "Avengers: Infinity War" lined up for the same year as well.

Seems like Marvel fans are about to get a blast of excitement from all these upcoming titles in the upcoming months. Stay tuned for more news coverage on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its upcoming movies like "Ant-Man 2"
