Mozilla has released its latest Firefox upgrade, providing updates for both its desktop Web browser and Android Web browser interfaces, as well as a browser-based game to keep users engaged. The desktop version update allows for reduced memory usage while browsing with add-ons and provides new tidbits such as a new JavaScript Debugger. The Android version brings a set of updates as well, including Flash for Honeycomb devices, a personalized start page, and support for tablets.

The new version of Mozilla's Firefox is now available for download in the Google Play Store, and works with virtually any Android device on the market. Firefox for Android also comes with an update to its personalized start screen. Called the "Awesome Screen," this update makes browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, and form data available right at the start. In addition, this update also allows users to import their customizations from other devices and interfaces by using a feature called Firefox Sync.

The latest upgrade for the Android version of Firefox also allows users to easily switch between mobile and desktop versions of Web pages with a "Request Desktop Site" button in the menu. Meanwhile, a new set of stability improvements and feature updates will make browsing faster than before. Developers are not left out either; a new set of HTML5 capabilities includes JavaScript, CSS, and other open Web standards.

Mozilla also developed a game called BrowserQuest, a cross-platform Firefox-based massively multiplayer joyride available for both the desktop and the Android versions of Firefox.

Lastly, an upgrade to Firefox Desktop allows users to work with a set of new developer features such as a JavaScript Debugger built-in to the browser to get any Web application code. Moreover, debuggers can also use this tool to remotely debug apps running on Firefox for Android on a local network. Compressed textures are supported as well, and the update also brings a set of new enhancements for gaming developers.

A complete list of new features in Firefox for Android is available in Mozilla's full release notes. Note that while this update is quite stable, some known issues still persist, including one bug that causes the screen to "yield unexpected behavior" at times when shifting between portrait and landscape.
