Even now fans are still wondering if Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift's short-lived relationship was genuine or just an elaborate publicity stunt. During an interview with GQ, the actor opened up about his relationship with the singer.

According to GQ, Tom Hiddleston himself confirmed that his relationship was real, albeit brief. At the end of their "90-day romance," the actor had nothing but kind words for his ex. Fans of both the actor and the singer were surprised when photos of the couple "kissing on the beach in Rhode Island" emerged last year.

After their trip to the beach, Hiddleston and Swift then traveled to England where the actor introduced Swift to his family. The couple also traveled to Australia, where Hiddleston shot "Thor: Ragnarok."

Before dating Hiddleston, Swift was in a relationship with producer and DJ Calvin Harris for one year. The actor shared, "Taylor is an amazing woman." He continued, "[s]he's generous and kind and lovely and we had the best time."

When GQ asked about the "I ♥ T.S." shirt that Hiddleston was photographed wearing in Rhode Island, the actor gamely explained how he got his hands on the now iconic piece of clothing. He said, "The truth is, it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back. And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, 'Does anyone have a T-shirt?' And one of her friends said, 'I've got this.'"

Taylor's friend then gave him the "I ♥ T.S." tank top that her friends "are contractually obligated to own." The actor concluded, "And we all laughed about it. It was a joke. Among friends."

He was very surprised to learn at how fans reacted to him wearing the Taylor Swift shirt. He said, "I was just surprised that it got so much attention. The tank top became an emblem of this thing."
