After its successful launch in February 2, "Fire Emblem Heroes" is making it big on iOS and Android devices. The game has been trending as the next big thing in mobile games.
Nintendo's new game is already capturing a large audience and thousands of players have already downloaded the iOS and Android apps. The game combines a sleek, grid-based combat system with impressive ingenuity. Advanced players have already given beginners a good dose of advice to win in the game, including crucial tips and tricks to take their skills to the next level.
WhatCulture compiled 20 key tips for starters. Here are some of the most important nuggets of wisdom to win in "Fire Emblem Heroes."
Tips To Earn Extra Orbs
Orbs may take a while to earn for beginners. Players that would want to take an early advantage can earn big using this tip: "rerolling your initial heroes" would put players in a spot for the best start.
To do this, you must uninstall the app and reinstall it again. Playing the tutorial and the first three prologue missions will net you a total of 20 orbs. Doing it all over again would stack up a total of 40 orbs; that is, if a player is willing to re-download a 400MB app.
Players who have a Nintendo Account might also earn extra orbs by "linking it to their game account." They can grab easy rewards by simply going through the game.
Unit Types & Their Corresponding Movements
Knowing unit types and movement styles is a crucial part of winning. There are four movement styles in "Fire Emblem Heroes."
Infantry units can move two spaces per turn and one space through the forest. Armoured units can only move one space per turn, including through the forest.
Cavalry units can move three spaces per turn, but cannot enter the forest. Lastly are the Flying Units. These units can move two spaces per turn, regardless of the terrain.
Weapons & Their Corresponding Damage
This is also a crucial part of the game. Knowing information about weapons and their corresponding damage is key to winning matches.
Melee Weapons (Sword/Lance/Axe) deal physical damage and have a range of one square. Tomes (Red/Blue/Green) are spells that induce magical damage within a range of two squares. Dragonstone (Red/Blue/Green) also deals magical damage, but the range is limited to one square.
Bow (Grey) deals physical damage and can deal bonus damage against Flying units. The range is two squares. Dagger (Grey) also deals physical damage and can reduce enemy stats. The range is two squares. While the Staff (Grey) deals magical damage with a range of two squares.
