Bethesda's marketing executive Pete Hines recently revealed that "Fallout 4" would be the most successful game in the company's launch history. It even reportedly has the ability to surpass "Skyrim." While it is a bit vague by what Hines meant as "most-successful," sales figures up to now has been impressive for "Fallout 4." While "Skyrim" has sold more than 20 million copies as of 2014 after launching in November 2011, "Fallout 4" shipped 12 million copies during November 2015 launch. Bethesda hasn't provided sales figure since then.

According to Game Spot, Hines, during an appearance on the Kinda Funny Gamecast, offered a high-level tease as to what Bethesda is planning next. He said that Bethesda will be stepping up the game "whether it's Fallout or Elder Scrolls or whatever they're going to do next." "Fallout 4's" high-resolution texture pack has also come out this week on Steam. "Skyrim" boosted it sales by releasing the Special Edition Remaster. Hines also had an answer for the critic who said "Fallout 4" did not do enough to set itself apart and that the game has is much like "Fallout 3."

Hines noted that with sequels, studios have to resort to a balancing act to preserve the franchise's core formula while at the same time pushing things forward. He took the example of Sony's "Uncharted" series to prove his point.

"If you played Uncharted 4 and that was your first game, I think you have a very different reaction to what that game is than if, like me, you played 1, 2, and 3," he explained. "Because Uncharted 4 is more of 1, 2, and 3," Hines said.

Meanwhile, Forbes has reported that the "Fallout 4" HD Texture Pack is ridiculously huge and requires 58GB of storage. The massive update adds more detail to the various textures found throughout the game. Moreover, the requirements to run the pack effectively on PC are pretty steep. Gamers will need a minimum of GTX-1080, Intel Core i7-5820K and 8GB RAM to run the pack.
