"World of Warcraft" WoW Tokens can now be redeemed for a brand new currency called Battle.net Balance. This new currency can be utilized for making purchases on other Blizzard games.

WOW Tokens

In 2015, WoW Tokens were rolled out as a "World of Warcraft" item that players can buy and sell for either in-game gold or real money. Players in, exchange for 30 days of "World of Warcraft" game time, most frequently used it.

The notion is to offer gold-rich players a practical way to spend their wealth on. In addition, it will enable others to purchase gold without having to go through a third party gold seller.

Today, Blizzard announced that it is expanding the scope of "World of Warcraft" WoW Tokens to include Battle.net Balance. With this move, the tokens can now be used to purchase services such as "World of Warcraft" character transfers, pets and mounts. This also includes in-game items from other support Blizzard games.

New WOW Tokens Details

According to PCGamer, the process of purchasing a WOW token is still the same. However, as soon as it is already in your inventory, right-clicking it will provide you the options to either add the usual 30 days of "World of Warcraft" time to your account or to convert it to $15 or whatever the regional equivalent, on your Battle.net account.

WOW Tokens do not have expiry dates, so keeping it longer and waiting for new deals to arrive will not defeat its purpose. You can use your Battle.net Balance in "Diablo 3" Battle Chest for instance. This feature is now one of the drop-down payment options, says Eurogamer.

WOW Tokens Limits & Restrictions

The "World of Warcraft" tokens have some limits in using them as your Battle.net Balance. WOW Tokens added funds are non-transferable, not refundable and cannot be converted into real money.

In addition, you cannot use it to purchase items from the Blizzard Gear Store. Furthermore, the balance cannot be used to make partial payments or combine it with other forms of payment.

WOW Tokens Support

The support page lists games such as "World of Warcraft," "StarCraft 2," "Diablo 3," "Hearthstone," "Heroes of the Storm" and "Overwatch" -- all of which support the WOW Tokens. It supports all current Blizzard games. Unfortunately, when the news went live, the supply of WoW Tokens immediately ran dry; but we'll keep you posted for updates.
