"Rock Band VR" is finally given out a fixed release date. Harmonix announced that the band simulation game will hit Oculus Rift on March 23 of this year and will come with a number of new content.
According to Polygon, "Rock Band VR" will need the headset and the Oculus Rift controller to attach to the guitar controller. The Harmonix game will give players the chance to blast their instruments to songs like "When You Were Young" by The Killers, "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith and even "Ain't It Fun" by Paramore.
It will be within a bundle made only for Amazon, which costs $69.99, and buyers can get either a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One-compatible controller that can be connected to a Windows PC through Bluetooth or Windows 10 Anniversary Edition. Naturally, it will come with a digital copy of "Rock Band VR."
Gameplay wise, "Rock Band VR" dons the "Classic Mode" where gamers can attempt to mimic a flawless performance with all the notes of the songs' studio version intact. There is also a "Performance Mode," in which players can perform a song as they please with their own unique touches. The users can then play around with a variety of chords, notes and strum speeds that will enhance their performance, giving it a sense of originality.
"Rock Band VR" promises hundreds of hours of "rock 'n' roll" fun for gamers all over the globe. The game requires Oculus Touch, a stable Internet connection to update downloadable content and, of course, the Guitar Controller. The original "Rock Band" was launched in 2007 by Harmonix Music Systems and is still recognized as one of the most popular band simulation games to this day.
