Everyone is waiting for the new iPad Mini, hopefully the Apple iPad Mini 5. It has been two long years since Apple has done something substantial to its iPad Mini series. The successor to iPad Mini 4 is hopefully going to be released this March and will be a 7.9-inch tablet. However, it may so happen that the mini tablet could be renamed as iPad Pro Mini.

The compact display will be a Retina one. However, there are mixed opinions about the size of the screen. An analyst named Ming-Chi Kuo has reported that the iPad Mini 5 may be released in 3 different sizes- 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch. As can be seen, the usual 7.9-inch size is not a part of this list. Hopefully the mystery will be revealed soon and there are some substantial surprises in everyone's ways! Apple is working on increased resolution for the screen of iPad Mini 5 and the body of the tablet will include an aluminum finish. This would make the gadget really durable, as is the case with the iPhone 6S and iPhone 7.

There are also reported leaks that suggest the iPad Mini 5 will be lighter and thinner than iPad Mini 4. It will almost be 1mm thinner than iPad Mini 4- which makes iPad Mini 5 almost 5mm thick! The upcoming tablet will be powered by either an A9 or an A10 processor. We also expect it to be equipped with a M9 co-processor which will help boost motion tracking of the device. The processing memory i.e. the RAM is expected to be 3GB. The iPad Mini 5 will come in 3 storage options including 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.

As far as the operating system is concerned, Apple is testing the beta version of iOS 10.3. Hence, iPad Mini 5 could come with this OS instead of iOS 11. We do not expect major upgrades in the camera of the tablet. Apple may just stick to the 8megapixel back camera and 1.2megapixel front camera combination. The tablet could come with a smaller battery than before but the same will not affect the usage and accessibility of the device.
