After some battery issues that led to a recall last year, the GoPro Karma drone is making a comeback in retail stores. Users of this GoPro offering are eager to know what has changed in the device.

Karma drone recall

TechCrunch said the device has already been made available for purchase in retail outlets like Amazon and Best Buy. It can also be bought via the official GoPro website for $799 and $1099 if it will be bundled with a GoPro Hero 5.

Last October, the Karma drone was initially released, but GoPro had to issue a recall more than two weeks after when some users reported that their drones suddenly lost power on air. The company claimed that a battery placement problem was causing the power loss.

GoPro CEO Nick Woodman earlier indicated that the problem with the battery could actually be solved by placing a tape on the battery to prevent it from popping. Many users loved the features of the drone and it was almost seamless except for the battery concern.

Battery latch improvement

According to Business Insider, GoPro has improved the battery latch of the device to avoid it from slipping out of place which leads to a loss of power. This design reportedly keeps the battery intact and in place even when there are strong vibrations of the drone.

Aside from this, the GoPro Karma drone maintains its portability compared to other drones available to the public. It was added in the Business Insider report that the drone also has the removable gimbal stabilizer.

Karma features

The GoPro Karma differentiates itself from the wide variety of drones on the market by having a removable stabilizer gimbal, which you can attach to the the included Karma Grip handle.

Fans are looking forward on the improvements introduced for the redesigned GoPro Karma drone. Are you excited to try the re-released drone from GoPro?
