Square Enix has confirmed that new "Final Fantasy" games are in the works and revealed that it may take a while for the iconic "remake" to hit the market, according to a report by VG247. During an interview with Shinji Hashimoto, Brand Manager of the Final Fantasy series, it was revealed that there are new titles in production.

He added that the recent ceremony, the Final Fantasy 30th anniversary, was a starting point to prepare several projects which are not only limited to home games. This means that the company might bring more future titles to the mobile platform.

Meanwhile, a separate interview with the remake's producer, Yoshinori Kitase, revealed that they are still working on the announcement trailer of "Final Fantasy VII" remake. He added that they can now see the line of quality they are trying to achieve, but the game has a long way to go.

Kitase also explained that the new generation of consoles might affect the development of the game as the company plans to release episodic titles of the remake. This is certainly bad news for fans that would need to wait for the episodic series to be finished through multiple platforms. Kitase mentioned that filling the gap between episodes would be a difficult feat to achieve and not something that could be released in just a few months.

The given information above should give fans an idea of how long it will take for the remake to be finished. Fans could only hope that it won't take as long as "Final Fantasy XV" to be finally released.
