Singer and actress Beyonce announced Wednesday that she is expecting twins with husband Jay Z. The 'Halo' singer revealed the wonderful news on Instagram.
"We would like to share our love and happiness," the hitmaker wrote. "We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes."
The former Destiny's Child member posted a photo of herself on Instagram, wearing a green veil, kneeling among flowers, cradling her baby bump. The news was well received by fans, and as of this writing has garnered 7,074,720 likes.
"Love u queen b I wish this two kids will grow as talented as u and Jay z are love from all of us [sic]," one fan wrote. Beyonce has not revealed the expected due date for the twins yet.
With the Carters' good news, Beyonce's attendance on the upcoming Grammys on Feb. 12 has been put into question. It's become unclear whether the singer will make an appearance on the highly anticipated event, where she's nominated for nine awards.
The singer is also scheduled to headline two weekends at Coachella in April, in a report by the Rolling Stone. Along with Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead will also headline the festival, and a roster of other talents such as Lorde, Future, New Order, DJ Khaled, Schoolboy 8 and Bon Iver.
Beyonce's unexpected twin announcement on Instagram is reminiscent of her surprise pregnancy reveal at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2011. Attendees and televiewers alike broke into applause when, after performing "Love on Top," she unbuttoned her tuxedo top, dropped her microphone and give her stomach a simple rub. Five years after the famous incident, daughter Blue Ivy debuted at the VMAs.
It is unclear as of now if Beyonce will reveal the due date for the twins, as well as their genders. The singer had not posted anything yet after the pregnancy announcement.
