Teri Hatcher, former star of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," will join the cast of "Supergirl" season 2. Hatcher is best remembered as the Lois Lane to Dean Cain's Clark Kent in the hit 1990s "Superman" series aired on ABC.
The actress has been cast in a mystery role, but what's clear for now is that she will be "Supergirl" season 2's big villain, according to TVLine. Character details are scarce, but the former Lois Lane is reportedly going to appear in multiple episodes next season, although production has not started yet.
The date of Hatcher's appearance has not been detailed as of this writing, but Variety has learned that her episodes will air in the winter. "No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all time favorite Lois Lane," said "Supergirl" season 2 executive producer Andrew Kreisberg on behalf of "Supergirl" co-creator Greg Berlanti. "To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg, and the fans."
Hatcher's appearance on "Supergirl" season 2 will see the actress reuniting with her "Desperate Housewives" co-star Mehcad Brooks, who plays Jimmy Olsen on the hit CW series. After her stint on "Desperate Housewives, the former Lois Lane appeared on the CBS comedy "The Odd Couple," opposite "FRIENDS" star Matthew Perry. In addition to "Lois & Clark" and "Desperate Housewives," Hatcher's TV credits include "Seinfeld," "The Love Boat" and "Jane By Design."
Hatcher is not the only "Lois & Clark" alum to appear on "Supergirl." The former Superman himself, Dean Cain, has been in four episodes of the CW show, including the pilot episode. The actor plays Kara and Alex's father, Jeremiah Danvers. More details on Hatcher's role and which villain she will be playing will be announced by The CW soon.
