EA today announced that BioWare's new franchise that has been confirmed will be out in April 2018. EA CEO Andrew Wilson said during a call with investors that the new game will be launched by the end of fiscal year that runs until March 31, 2018.

According to GameSpot, Wilson indicated the game at a high level and said that it features new concepts and can interrupt the action game space. "At the end of the fiscal year, our BioWare studio will be delivering an all-new IP," he said. "A clean-sheet design with new concepts, new gameplay mechanics, and new stories set in a unique new universe."

He went on to say that the game can fundamentally disrupt how people think about an action game to play with friends in a new exciting way and they're thrilled of the new franchise's future and its ability to draw interest a massive audience worldwide. When asked for more details on the title during the call, Wilson hinted that it is an action-adventure game rather than an RPG and added that it will combine genres.

Wilson also confirmed that it is not based on another company's franchise but it's going to be a completely owned IP, according to a report. He then added some background on the new franchise that they started creating a new world in 2012 full of new stories, characters and gameplay where they aim to draw upon more than 20 years of development knowledge and lessons to make something enjoyable and new for everyone.

Aaryn Flynn, BioWare Manager added that after all, they are BioWare and they have a certain type of title that they love creating since they are aware that the fans would certainly love and so they will have to stick with it. He also said not to expect to hear or learn more about the new franchise at least until after "Mass Effect Andromeda" is launch in March.
