What makes survival games games interesting is it's detailed gameplay and graphics. Every game developer and creator knows that putting details in survival games make it immersive. Chopping wood, crafting and hunting for food are some of the ways that show how smooth the animation of survival games are. Some games such as Minecraft, Rust, ARK: Survival Evolved, The Forest, and more features animations that are not that quite perfect yet. PCGamer revealed about the animations in chopping wood in the above mentioned games.
Of course, players should not blame developers and creators for the games which are still on early access as modifications are expected to be made in the future. Notably, the game "Rust" features excellent graphics. However, the chopping of trees makes it somewhat off as the tree that a player cuts down disappears after the material is obtained. Millions of players have played "Minecraft." They are given opportunity to be free in everything they do. However, floating trees seems to be unreal as once the lower part of the wood is chopped, the remaining part stay afloat.
Immersion and detail work
Furthermore, the immersion of survival games are excellent because factors exhibiting such element contribute in making players feel as if they are in the game. Ambience, graphics, sounds, and details are factors that contribute to immersion. However, poor action animations often disrupts the balance.
Another game with a slight weird chopping animation is "ARK: Survival Evolved," which shows trees dissolve before hitting the ground. It might be part of the game or just an incomplete animation that needs to be corrected as soon as possible. Recently, the game was updated with a mod that changes dinosaurs into Pokemons, as stated in a report from GameSpot. Nevertheless, survival games have high standards when it comes to movement.
