Samsung recently released a press shot of its Galaxy S Blaze Q, the contents of which have fueled rumors of the device's pending release. In the shot, the listed date on the phone's screen is August 15.

While that may seem innocent enough on the surface, companies often use these press shot screen dates as a tactic to hint at future release dates, or dates when more information will be made available at the very least. Adding fuel to this particular rumor is the fact that August 15 was a date previously bandied about as the device's release date.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S Blaze Q, with sliding 5-row QWERTY keyboard, has rumoured specs of a 4" 720p screen, 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S3 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The device should run on T-Mobile's HSPA+42 network.

The legitimacy of the 720p screen spec is often called into question, as 720p on a screen of just 4" would give it an incredible PPI that would put most other devices to shame. Either the screen would have to be larger than the rumored 4" or the device is unlikely to have 720p. Images of the screen also don't seem to back up the 720p rumors, and make it appear more likely the screen is a 480x800 WVGA Super AMOLED display, akin to the Blaze 4G's screen.

Whether the phone is released on August 15 or not, it's likely we'll find out more about it by that date, including the all-important price point.
