The rumors of the Xbox 360 arriving in 2013 are becoming louder as the days go by. We are learning today that a new job opening at Microsoft is suggesting the Xbox 720 will be launched before 2014. If you're a bit slow, this means the Xbox 720, codenamed Durango, could very well hit store shelves in 2013. Development studios have been raging lately about not having next generation toys to play around with, and a 2013 launch window would definitely put fears to rest.

The job opening that is causing this entire buzz is for a Central Marketing Group director. This person will help with the marketing of Microsoft products such as Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, Microsoft Surface, Office 2013, and Xbox 720.

Here's a little snippet from the job posting:

"Over the next eighteen months Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox, along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface".

We highly believe the Xbox mentioned in the above quote is the Xbox 720. There is no need for Microsoft to release a newer Xbox 360 with the success in sales the company is experiencing at the moment. Developers are crying out loud for the next generation to begin with Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo and its Wii U are like an introduction and not truly the beginning.

Recently in an interview with The Verge, Microsoft's general manager Brian Hall also let it slip about the coming of the "new Xbox."

"We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office with the new Windows phone and the new Xbox."

What are we expecting?

We expect the Xbox 720 to be officially unveiled at E3 2013. Microsoft is going to steal the show with stunning new games and Kinect 2.0, and then the company will announce a $399 and $499 price tag. Release date will be in time for the holidays, giving gamers enough time to save up for what is expected to be the best console of the next gen.

We've seen Microsoft playing with a subscription model Xbox 360, that is sold on contract for $99. There is a chance the company could pull off a similar stunt with the Xbox 720.
