“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 had a prison-centric episode and had some of its doctors temporarily move away from Grey Sloan Memorial. Prior to the series’ winter hiatus, the audience was left with a slew of cliffhangers.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 viewers had expected to get their questions answered in the midseason premiere, but only one of them were answered. As Jo, Arizona, and Bailey set forth on their way home back to Seattle, Bailey got a call about Alex’s decision. Apparently, while everyone was focused on the three of them as they helped a female inmate give birth inside the prison, Alex decided to take the plea deal - which was jail time for two years.

“You need to brace yourself for what will happen,” Jessica Capshaw, who plays Arizona Robbins on “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, told Variety. She then added that her character, Arizona, is “completely devastated” after it was revealed that “one of her nearest and dearest proteges could be taken away forever.”

“I think it is as bas ad it gets,” she added. “If he goes to prison, he cannot practice medicine again.”

Although the end of the recent “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 episode seemed to indicate that Alex was, indeed, going behind bars, Capshaw hinted that it might not be the end game for Justin Chambers’ character just yet. According to Capshaw, fans need to “watch the show” some more.

“You are going to find out whether or not he really goes and what happens and what could get him out or what could keep him in,” she continued. “You are going to see it all.”

Even Alex’s on-screen partner, Camilla Luddington - who plays Jo, revealed to TV Line that “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 viewers will get to “find out his fate” in the upcoming February 2 episode.
