Meanwhile, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 builds on the same successful formula of a 10.1-inch, 1366 x 768 IPS LCD multi-touch display with 10-hour battery life. The second-generation tablet is powered by Intel processors and will be available in Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G LTE models; Lenovo has already confirmed AT&T as one carrier. Options also include a ThinkPad-like keyboard dock sporting Lenovo's redesigned keyboard layout for heavy-duty text entry.
The display can also be outfitted with an optional stylus, which offers more precision due to an active digitizer, and options also include a fingerprint reader. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 also packs two cameras, a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, HDMI output, three USB ports, and wired Ethernet. No word is available on pricing yet, but the ThinkPad 2 tablet will be available in October, when Windows 8 makes its debut.
