All eyes may be on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6, Xiaomi's next flagship but they have another phone in the pipeline for their consumer base. The Xiaomi Mi 5C is rumored to be a more affordable version of Xiaomi Mi 5 and leaks have been sprouting up all of last year with the phone's supposed specs. A Chinese online certification website-China Quality Certification-listed five Xiaomi models that have gone through speculation and it looks like one of them is the Mi 5C.

5 Xiaomi Models Certified. According to Tech, the five models that Xiaomi sent through bore the model numbers 2105212, 2016089, 2016101, MAE136, and MBE6A5. And of these five, people have zeroed in on the MAE136, saying it's the Xiaomi Mi 5C, also codenamed Meri. The website claims this model will launch in February this year, but no other website or source confirms this.

Xiaomi Mi 5C Specifications. The leak for the models doesn't tell us much about the Xiaomi Mi 5C,but it does raise some interesting features. For one, the Mi 5C is fuelled by a 5V/2A power adaptor. According to BGR, this means the device will not support the current trend of high voltage, fast-charge technology.

Further leaked images show an ultra-sleek design, with narrow bezels around the display and 2.5 glass for a premium look. Unlike the Xiaomi Mi 5, there's no 3D treatment on the rear but the phone's aluminum unibody with cutouts for the camera look just as good.

Other likely specs include two variations for the display; 5.2-inch full HD and a 5.5-inch of the same. For cameras, the Xiaomi Mi 5C is said to sport a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera but no word yet on the lens.

Xiaomi Mi 5C will run on MIUI 8, which is based on Android Marshmallow, and may be powered by Xiaomi's own Pinecone processor. Again, the website leak hints at a February release, but no official date has been named.
