"Battlefield 1" first expansion pack titled "They Shall Not Pass" was revealed earlier today via Twitter account. The DLC will include four new multiplayer maps, a new faction, new game mode and more.
IGN reports that the first of the four maps will be Verdun Heights. The map will have players fighting through the forest fires that was created be the famous "Battle of Verdun." The map is an uphill battle towards the massive fortresses of Verdun where the artillery never stops.
Next map is the Fort Vaux where players fight in the maze of dark galleries and wet stone corridors. The third map, called Soissons, will take place in the French countryside and players take part on the biggest tanks assaults in WW1.
Finally, players will fight in Fontenoy where poppies grow over a rusty wreck from previous tank battles. A new game mode will also be included in the DLC, called Frontlines. Both teams fight for one flag at a time and when this objective is captured, the action moves onto the next.
Furthermore, the expansion pack comes along with the St. Chamond assault tank and the Char 2c tank. Trench Raider as a new Elite Class and the Siege Howitzer as a new stationary weapon.
Meanwhile, Tech Times reports that the 15-second clip for the DLC is the introduction of the French Army into the "Battlefield universe. The title largely indicates the narrative of the expansion pack that transpires during the "Battle of Verdun" in France.
EA DICE had previously stated that the upcoming DLC wanted to capture of how a million artillery shells were spent in the opening stage of this carnage, while an insane 40 million shells were fired in the entire duration of the battle.
For now, no confirmed release dates are reported, but it would highly likely to arrive sometime in March. Players with the $50 "Battlefield 1" Premium Pass will get early access to the expansion.
