The Samsung Galaxy S8 seems like worth the wait. Even though the phone won't launch in February, a fresh set of reports have emerged suggesting certain new specs and features, some contradicting earlier reports. For example, it is now being suggested that the Galaxy S8 smartphone will have a 3.5mm headphone jack whereas earlier it was reported, it won't. Samsung could release two devices in late March that may go on sale around April 21.

According to The Guardian, the devices, codenamed Dream and Dream 2, will be roughly the same size as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. They will have large Infinity Displays curving down on both sides of the phone. The Galaxy S8 display is said to be so big that there won't even be room for the Samsung logo at the front. Thus, the fingerprint scanner will also be shifted to the back of the device instead of being embedded underneath the display.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to have an Iris scanner similar to that in the discontinued Galaxy Note 7. The rear camera will be similar to the Galaxy S7 camera but with incremental upgrades to image quality. A very interesting feature would be the built-in object recognition, Google Goggles. The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and have an internal storage capacity of 64GB.

The DeX accessory is also coming to the Galaxy S8 device that will turn the smartphone into an Android-based desktop computer. Samsung's new digital assistant Bixby is also set to come to the Galaxy S8 phone though the name is still unconfirmed. Samsung, as usual, has not confirmed any these reports except that it won't release the device in February. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on the Samsung Galaxy S8 handset.
