"Rick and Morty" Season 3 release date remains a mystery to fans and viewers since Season 2 ended in 2015. While Dan Harmon recently offered an explanation for the delay in the release of the upcoming season of the Adult Swim series, the series creator teased that the new season will be "different" than the previous seasons.

"Rick and Morty" Season 3 spoilers reveal that the upcoming season of the Adult Swim series will be "something different" than its previous seasons. Speaking with IndieWire, Dan Harmon teased that the new season will not feature the third "Interdimensional Cable" despite previous statements that the co-creators are considering doing another edition.

Instead, Harmon promised that "Rick and Morty" Season 3 will feature new storylines that are bound to surprise fans and viewers. During the same interview, Harmon also explained the reason behind the delay in the release date of the show.

Harmon shared that he and co-creator Justin Roiland have been fighting nonstop about what they want to feature in Season 3. As most fans can recall, "Rick and Morty" Season 2 ended in October 2015 and back then, Mr. Poopy Butthole teased that the third season will premiere a year and a half later.

Roiland also shared a sneak preview of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 while Harmon was at the Adult Video Network Awards, reports Paste Magazine. In the said photo, Rick can be seen next to three Mortys, which sparked a lot of theories and speculations.

The publication notes that "Rick and Morty" Season 3 may still explore the multiple universes subplot given the details shown in the teaser photo. This also goes to show that production is still ongoing, which takes fans back to a possible March 2017 release date.
