"Rick and Morty" Season 3 release date continues to remain a mystery, as Adult Swim still has not announced details surrounding the show's return on TV. It has been over a year since the end of Season 2 and so far, the show has only released a couple of teaser trailers.

Despite the "delay" in the "Rick and Morty" Season 3 premiere, Justin Roiland promised fans and viewers that the upcoming episodes will be worth the wait during an interview with Collider. According to the series co-creator, they will be presenting some exciting storylines in the upcoming season.

"We're deep into the season... But I do really feel like, the episodes we've got in the hopper are some of the best we've ever done, I think," he shared.

While it remains to be seen what episodes and storylines will be shown in "Rick and Morty" Season 3, Movie Pilot notes on a possible crossover between the Adult Swim series and "Gravity Falls." According to the publication, there have been several Easter Eggs that point to the show's deeper connection.

Some may note that Roiland and "Gravity Falls" creator Alex Hirsch have been friends, which may explain the references between their shows. However, some clues such as Ford's ability to travel to different dimensions, the appearance of Grunkle Stan's lost items in "Rick and Morty" as well as a coded message, which reads: "Rick was here" were seen in both shows.
