Nintendo Switch trailer has indicated an updated stance in the company's position over Esports. It is a known fact that Nintendo has never been a great fan of international competitive gaming events.

In 2013, at the EVO competitive gaming fight, the Japanese giant planned to bring the Super Smash Bros for the event. EVO had to not only pull off the game from the broadcast list but from the entire event itself. However, the recent Nintendo Switch trailer reveals that things have turned otherwise.

Nintendo To Enter Esports

The last part of the Nintendo Switch console trailer had something that the company has never be so fond of, esports. Yes! The last minute of the trailer confirms that Nintendo's new updated stance with regards to esports, as reported by Inverse.

The Nintendo Switch trailer shows, a stadium like set up with a huge cheering crowd and colorful lights splashing. At the center of the arena is a bunch of Splatoon players who are competing and giving high-five to fans. However, it appeared like a typical event set-up for popular esports such as Dota 2 or the League of Legends sans with the security guards who keep the fans from approaching the center stage, as reported by Mashable.

Nintendo Partners With ESL

Recent updates also reveal that the Nintendo has already partnered with ESL, one of the most popular esports competitive event organizers in the world. ESL has prior experience with regards to hosting multiple Splatoon competitions. The recent partnership that happened in September 2016 has been about the latest Go4Splatoon tournament, which offers a grand prize of four Nintendo Switches.

Nintendo Is Taking Steps To Match Competitors

Though the Nintendo Switch trailer does not clearly show whether bringing Splatoon2 to esports tournament is for real or just a dream, it indeed confirms that the company is making serious steps to enter into competitive tournaments, which is like entering into the 21st century for the gaming giant.
