If you've been using Outlook.com as much us, you would realize that SkyDrive is missing the new look, along with the Calendar app. Fortunately, Microsoft came out saying the company plans on making SkyDrive to be all Metro-like before the end of Summer, and we are too happy about that. As you may know, some of us here at Mobile & Apps, are truly passionate about SkyDrive, so expect a complete preview when this thing goes gold.

A new interface is not the only addition to SkyDrive. Coming along are some new features that should allow SkyDrive to surpass the competition - new features like Windows Live Groups, which adds a sidebar to SkyDrive that allow users to create a group to share Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint documents on the web, while chatting using messenger or Skype.

There is also the ability to preview files and documents in the thumbnail view, and also being able to select files and folders all in the same interface. Look at that, Microsoft making easier to use web services than Google, who would have thought?

What we would love to see added, is an automatic save feature like in Google Docs. Manually saving is a pain in the neck, so hopefully while Microsoft is busy being awesome, the company won't forget the little things and add them to make using SkyDrive that more exciting and cool.

Welcome to Microsoft 2.0 ladies and gentlemen. The company has finally stepped on the gas and is doing great things. It is difficult to believe this is the same company that created the stink bomb that was called Vista. Isn't it amazing how things change with time?
