Bandai Namco launched new gameplay video based on the forthcoming "Gundam Versus" at the Taipei Game Show 2017. In addition, the company announced that a closed beta test would be coming in March for the arena fighting title.

Bandai Namco will host a closed beta test for "Gundam Versus" in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea in March. The "Gundam Versus" beta test will be founded on feedback from the alpha test conducted in November 2016 and will be available in South East Asia. It will comprise several game modes, such as "Player Match" and "Free Battle," as well as both online and offline support. The "Gundam Versus" beta test will give players the chance to fight across countries, as well as limit matchmaking to their own country.

According to Gematsu, apart from Gundam, Gundam Exia, and Gundam Kyrios, who were playable in the previous alpha test, Z Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Victory 2 Gundam, GN-X (Sergei Smirnov), and Union Flag Custom (Graham Aker) will also be playable in the "Gundam Versus" beta test.

There are several remarkable new mechanics at play, says Forbes. It showed the latest evasive Boost Dive as well as assist units known as Strikers.

"Gundam Versus" itself, while no longer made by Byking, preserves much of what made the preceding "Gundam Extreme Versus" games so absorbing. "Gundam Versus" play resembles almost the same as the latest iteration of those preceding games, specifically Gundam Extreme Versus Maxi Boost.

At present, no release date for "Gundam Versus" game has been announced. "Gundam Versus" is however scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4. The upcoming game is set to commemorate the 15th year anniversary of the "Gundam" series. The first game "Gundam DX" initially was released on 2001, while the latest "Extreme V5 Force" was released last year.
