Scottish hunk Sam Heughan has been spotted filming "Outlander" season 3, the time travel drama, alongside Caitriona Balfe in Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Production crew and props filled the streets and lanes of the capital, and eager fans have flocked the area to catch a glimpse of the attractive pair.

Heughan's character, rebel Highlander Jamie Fraser, and his love interest Claire (Balfe) are garbed to look 20 years older in the new series, the DailyMail reported. However, the two seemed ageless as they return for their roles in "Outlander" season 3. Heughan was seen wearing a traditional 18th century costume underneath his modern black coat. The actor appeared to be in a good mood as he made his way across Royal Mile beaming.

On the other hand, the lovely actress is returning to the 20th century pregnant with her and Jamie's child (Brianna) Sophie Skelton in season 2 to make sure that their offspring would grow up in a safe environment. To recall, season 2 ended with quite a bang, as Brianna found out that her father is not Frank, Claire's first husband, but Jamie is.

"Outlander" season 3's other cast actors were spotted filming back in November. Skelton was previously seen filming in Glasgow's West End, alongside her on-screen love interest Richard Rankin (Roger).

Skelton and Rankin's on-screen chemistry has been previously commended by executive producer Ron Moore, in his interview with TVLine. "They both just nailed it. We did a chemistry test where we had Roger and Bree on camera together. Once that worked, we felt like we had all of the pieces," the EP said.

Meanwhile, it's all a go for the filming of "Outlander" season 3. Aside from shooting scenes in Edinburgh, both Heughan and Balfe will also heading to Ayrshire, to shoot some scenes on Denure on January 30, The Scottish Sun reported. The new season will begin with the Battle of Culloden in Scotland for Sam's character Jamie, and a flashback for Caitriona's Claire in Boston, US.
