Starz officially confirmed that "Outlander" Season 3 release date is in September. As Vanity Fair reports, this may be a longer wait for viewers, as the drama is often released in March or April.

While the "Droughtlander" phase will be taking a longer time than usual, the publication notes that fans and viewers have a lot to look forward to next season. "Outlander" Season 3 spoilers from Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe reveal that viewers will have to endure Jamie and Claire's separation for a while.

Since "Outlander" Season 3 will be adapted from Diana Gabaldon's third book titled "Voyager," those who have read the books are aware that their reunion is one of the book's highlights. Heughan and Balfe teased that their reunion will be a "special" one.

"Maybe [fans will] have to wait a little bit, but I don't think the sex is going to be as scarce as last season, shall we say," said Balfe.

Meanwhile, Carter Matt notes that "Outlander" Season 3 spoilers reveal that production is currently taking place in South Africa. One of the show's writers, Matthew Roberts, shared a photo on the set of the upcoming season, which appears to be the inside of a ship.

Heughan and Balfe are expected to film on location in preparation for the "Outlander" Season 3 release date in September. According to the publication, the extensive set for the new season is still currently being constructed.
