In their bid to ensure "Pokemon Go" players stay glued to the game, Niantic Labs has been rolling out an array of awe-inspiring updates. However, avid fans of the game have been clamoring for Legendary Pokemon, something the game developer promised long ago.

Much to the dismay of "Pokemon Go" fans, Niantic Lab did not divulge when the Legendary Pokemon would make an appearance in the game. But that is about to change, thanks to an unidentified source that spilled the beans about what aces the studio has up its sleeve for the coveted species.

The next big update will introduce the Legendary Pokemon to the hit AR (augmented reality) mobile game, according to an insider from SlashGear. This has been long delayed. Apparently, umpteen considerations were made in the interest of China.

It's no secret that "Pokemon Go" is blocked in the aforesaid country. The game developer is leaving no stone unturned in their bid to change this by trying to comply with every detail. The implementation of the ban is currently being worked out with China's SAPPRFT (State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television).

The next major update for "Pokemon Go" will be focusing on China. The speculation stems from the fact that the country is considered as a huge potential for the future of the supposedly fading mobile game.

This makes a lot of sense considering that China has billion of players to offer. In line with this, Niantic Labs is likely to tweak a few features in the game. Once the studio gets their hands on the license, they could almost double their time as the country is already lagging behind other nations.

How to ensure this comes into fruition? By releasing the Legendary Pokemon. There's word that a "Pokemon Go" event will take place on Jan. 28 -- it's worth noting that this is the day of Chinese New Year. This is clearly going to be quite a massive drop just in the nick of time. Moreover, Legendary Pokémon will be released in next few months, Birmingham Mail reported.

The site attributed the delayed release to Niantic's decision to debut the Legendary Pokemon during Spring and Summer as this is the time when most players are likely to step outside the comfort of their homes and explore. There is no exact release date revealed as of yet.
