Samsung's next-generation flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 have been subject to a slew of speculations and leaks with the devices' rumored release date drawing near. The latest buzz surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S8 suggests that the smartphone may come bearing a higher price compared to its precursor.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge launched earlier last year carrying €700 (about $749) and €800 (about $856) price tags respectively; however, their long-awaited successor, the Galaxy S8 is likely to cost €850, which converts to about $910, according to the usually reliable tipster @Ricciolo1.

The leaked price is for the small Galaxy S8, which is still as big as 5.7-inch. Apparently, the bigger Galaxy S8 Plus will be up for grabs for €100 (about $107) on top of that. If this comes to fruition, the Galaxy S8 duo would surpass the iPhone in terms of price.

The rumor further alludes to the Galaxy S8's public debut claiming that Samsung will not showcase the S8 for the public at large at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017. However, journalists will be able to catch a brief glimpse of the device.

The public reveal is expected to happen at the end of March with sales kicking off as late as the last week of April. This would allow LG to launch their G6 smartphone a month ahead of Samsung's new flagship.

Meanwhile, recently surfaced Galaxy S8 renders claim that the Plus version of upcoming smartphones will oust the dual rear camera setup. A report from GSM Arena cites an unidentified case maker that sent 3D renders of the S8 smartphone to the publication confirming the removal of the front home button, dual rear camera aside from other changes.

If the rendered images are anything to go by, the Galaxy S8 will have very thin bezels on sides, top and bottom. Moreover, the curved edges of the Galaxy S8 seem more striking compared to its precursor. Also, there's no home button in the front or a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, meaning, the Galaxy S8 will feature an optical fingerprint sensor.

Furthermore, Samsung seems to retain the .5mm headphone jack on its 2017 flagship smartphone, which is expected to feature a USB Type-C port. Aside from that, the renders show speaker grills at the top as well as the bottom of the Galaxy S8, suggesting it will come with stereo speakers.
