"Borderlands 3" may have been a good game for the newly-launched gadget but it seems like it will not be in the "Nintendo Switch" anytime soon. This follows the response of Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford to a fan on Twitter, indicating that as of the moment, no upcoming release of the game will be available for the said gadget.

"Nintendo Switch" however, promised to have full third-party support as it aims to be a viable substitute for Xbox One and PS4. Though, Nintendo also released its game line-up for 2017 with plenty of it are first-party games or outside developers working with the franchise. Several huge third-party games were not in it, "Borderlands 3" included.

According to Pitchford, the studio had talks with Nintendo regarding "Borderlands 3" inclusion, however, it seems the latter cut their communication with Gearbox. This implies that interest to the game in bringing it into the Switch may not be there anymore. A different title may actually be lined up for this game, which has not been revealed by Gearbox yet.

"Borderlands 3" and its entire franchise is currently one of the freshest and stronger IPs in gaming. It sold millions of copies since it was launched in 2009 and it is unfortunate that it will not be included in the Switch considering the success of the franchise. The reason is still unclear but it seems that what may have affected the deal were the releases of "Aliens: Colonial Marines" in 2013 and "Battleborn" - both of which flopped. The inability of Gearbox to follow through its projects may partly be the reason as it did with "Brothers in Arms" reboot game which was shelved in development. The company has not yet released a decent game ever since "Borderlands" and it is apparent.

Whatever the reason is, Wii U's third-party support lacked and that is to be blamed when it comes to engaging gamers to play. As of the moment, "Borderlands 3" is in development for unspecified platforms.
