If latest reports are to be believed, a "Borderlands 3" reveal could be a few weeks away and it may happen during the Gearbox PAX East panel. The description panel of the PAX East website revealed the information, though it has been taken down now. One can view the description at NeoGAF, which reads something like, "This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms and more! We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives and surprises. So don't miss out!"

According to iDigitalTimes, this description has fuelled intense speculation on the release of "Borderlands 3" because of the words "never-before-seen" in the description above. Earlier Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox, confirmed that the studio would soon start work on the game. However, this he said, way back during the PAX East 2016. If work really did start soon after as promised, it is time that the studio released a teaser trailer of the game to show the progress made so far and assure fans that the game is well on track.

Fans are already aware of the fact that there is practically no chance of "Borderlands 3" landing up on the Nintendo Switch console. As reported earlier, Gearbox was in talks with Nintendo to form a partnership but it never materialized and talks soon fizzled out. However, there is also a chance that the game may finally end up on Switch, though chances are less. The reason why the partnership didn't materialize is not known. "Borderlands" was released in 2009 and "Borderlands 2" in 2012.

According to Fab Newz, Pitchford also teased that the game may not be called "Borderlands 3." He said, "We don't even know if we're going to call it that."
