Sherlock just ended with dismal results last Sunday and this seemingly suggests the end. After four seasons of mixed reviews, the TV show will possibly not continue for season 5.

There have been conflicting reports about Sherlock's future. According to The Sun, this might be the end due to a frosty relationship between the lead actors.

Both actors have had an odd relationship despite coexisting in the set for 6 years. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are not close. But, according to the publication, both are civil despite the lack of friendship. Both actors spend their time apart in between shoots.

BBC might have not yet hinted the end for their TV drama. However, the relationship suggests that this is the end for our favorite detective. Co-creator Steven Moffat has already said that Sherlock season 5 depends on both the leads' willingness to return.

Sherlock's season finale had the lowest audience count for the entire span of the TV series. The numbers are quite disappointing, to say the least. The finale peaked with 6.2 million viewers on Sunday.

Last week, Freeman (Dr. John Watson) admitted that he does not speak that much to Cumberbatch. BBC has not yet responded for a possible extension regarding "Sherlock." Many are believing that this might be the final season of the show. The finale did not end in a cliffhanger fashion, compared to previous season finales.

In a different post from Digital Spy, there is still hope that "Sherlock" might be back but with a different cast. Cumberbatch has already inked major deals with Marvel and Freeman is making his debut with StartUp.

If ever a new Sherlock would push through we might have to expect a different show altogether. So far, the show ended up far from what people expected. Stay tuned for more updates.
