It looks like Lenovo is gearing up to unveil a brand spanking new Moto phone at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona next month. Multiple sources suggest it could be the new Moto G5 Plus.

The rumor mill has been swirling all sorts of speculations surrounding the release date, specs and other details of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, with the press render of the latter device making its way on the internet earlier this week. Not too long ago, a slew of live images of the purported Moto G5 Plus was spotted online.

Now, it looks like the release date for Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus is just around the corner as reports running rampant online hint at a possible announcement at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017. Lenovo has put invites for a Feb. 26 event in circulation in line with this, according to CNET.

The eye-catching invite shows a Moto device casting a shadow which bears resemblance to Barcelona's Sagrada Familia with the 'Hello Moto' tagline at the bottom. This clearly indicates that Lenovo is headed to the MWC 2017 in Barcelona, most likely with Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus in tow.

Though the Lenovo invite does not divulge enough details regarding what could be in the offing at the event, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones are likely to be unveiled, as they are the most feasible handsets at the moment.

It's no secret that MWC is a whale of an event and a perfect platform for handset manufacturers such as Lenovo and Nokia to make a big impact. Other tech giants such as Xiaomi, LG and Samsung have also opted to unveil their smartphones at this popular annual trade show in the past.

The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus details surfaced online earlier this month indicating that the smartphones will feature 5.5-inch full-HD displays. Moreover, the mid-range devices will sport a 5MP front shooter, along with octa-core SoCs. The Moto G5 is likely to come with a 13MP primary camera, while the Moto G5 Plus, on the other hand, could boast a 16MP primary camera, according to Gadgets360.

Under the hood, an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC will be firing up the Moto G5 Plus. It will have 4GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of inbuilt storage. The Moto G5 Plus will pack a robust 3080mAh battery.

Moreover, the recently surfaced renders for the Moto G5 Plus hints at a fingerprint scanner located at the front. Meanwhile, the back of the smartphone will sport a circular camera panel. The Moto "M" logo will appear just below camera module. The device will be up for grabs in Silver color option.

In addition to the expected Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones, Lenovo could also take the wraps off some new Moto Mods, which are basically the modular accessories for Moto Z line. With MWC 2017 around the corner, more details are likely to surface online. Stay tuned in here for more updates!
