If you are one of those MacBook users who have fears that someone else is watching them through the iSight camera, there are few easy steps on how to disable it or enable it too in case you are already comfortable. Some users are actually having paranoia thinking that there are prying eyes behind the lens despite that fact that the tiny green light is not active.

So if your fears come close enough, there's a third-party app to disable access to the iSight camera called iSight disabler, according to Redmond Pie. You don't have to get yourself around technicalities and difficult fiddling with codes as you can just download the update in a zip format from Dropbox and if you are running the latest desktop OS in Apple, it's compatible with macOS Sierra.

Since the third-party app of disabling the iSight camera is on a zip file, once you are done downloading it, you can start decompressing it so you can get access to all files inside including a filename iSightConfigure.app. Basically, this file is an Apple Script creation and its task is to process enabling or disabling the camera mechanically, which is built into Macs.

So to continue with the steps in enabling or disabling the iSight camera, double the iSightConfigure.app to launch the app. You will notice the dialogue box containing the information of the script alongside knowledge information alert that says ‘Any applications currently using the iSight will continue to have access until they are quit or restarted'.

You will have to take note of that alert and press the ‘Disable iSight' button. You will then be prompted to enter the password for the signed-in user or main admin respectively and you're done until you want to enable camera again, then you'll have to go through the same steps and press the ‘Enable iSight' button.

To further check if the iSight camera has been disabled, you can launch either FaceTime of Photo Booth, according to CNet. When you see a black screen, it means that you have successfully disabled the camera.
