A new option for Windows 10 found in December called the 'Game Mode' is now confirmed by Microsoft. Recently, this new option for Windows 10 has officially started for public testing.

This new Game Mode option for Windows 10 is said to maximize the game's performance on PC. It is likely that Windows will adjust CPU, GPU and RAM resources from any background apps to a running game to allocate more power.

Microsoft unveiled the new Game Mode through the Xbox Wire Blog. Mike Ybarra, the head of platform engineering for Xbox says that they will improve the performance of the PC games through the all new Windows 10 Game Mode.

"Our goal is to make Windows 10 the best Windows ever for gaming. With the Creators Update, we're introducing a new feature called Game Mode," he said. He also added that, this week, Windows insiders will start seeing some of the visual elements for Game Mode, with the feature being fully operational in builds shortly thereafter.

Before the Microsoft announcement, Twitter user @h0x0d reportedly found the new feature in the Windows 10 developer build in December. The post is dated on Dec. 15, 2016, saying "14997 has a new dll "gamemode.dll," so it looks like Game Mode is a thing."

The new Game Mode is a big update for Windows. The company is looking forward to insiders getting their hands on this new feature for further testing. In the coming weeks, expect that they will have more to share about this new development and how it works.
