Lucasfilm has partnered with Netmarble Games to create new Star Wars smartphone gaming app. The game, titled "Star Wars: Force Arena," is available for both iOS and Android handsets.
The card-based and free-to-play "Star Wars: Force Arena" is now available to download in Apps Store and Google Play. It was released in Jan. 12, 2017 and has since reached thousands of downloads.
The "Star Wars: Force Arena" game focuses on players assembling teams of famous Star Wars characters, such as Darth Vader and Han Solo. Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor, characters from the recent "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" movie, are also playable.
Players will be pitting their team of Star Wars characters to fight against one another. One Vs One and Two Vs Two battle options are available in "Star Wars: Force Arena."
By collecting character cards, players can upgrade their favorite characters and create an ideal squad, while leveraging powerful character teams to boost effectiveness in battle. Reward, special characters and bonus items can be earned by participating in in-game events.
According to the developer's explanation, "Star Wars: Force Arena" players must form a powerful team from over 80 upgradable characters and units to become victorious in the quest for galactic dominance. Players can strategize character, or invite friends and comrades fight in Guild mode and to defend their chosen faction.
The Lucasfilm and the "Star Wars: Force Arena" developer will be rewarding select players for their participation. To celebrate the launch of the game, developer Netmarble is hosting a check-in event from Jan. 12 until Jan. 20, 2017. Players checking-in daily during the "Star Wars: Force Arena" event will receive crystals, leader cards and gold card packs to strengthen their squad. Returning players can expect regular live updates with new content, characters and units, according to Paste Magazine.
