"Outlander" Season 3 is gearing up for a big return as the most interesting reunion in the show is happening this year. In an interview with Caitriona Balfe who plays as Claire, she revealed that the meeting between her character and Jamie (Sam Heughan) was "beautifully" filmed. She also teased that the new season will see more of her character who is now living with a husband and a daughter.
Balfe described the third season of the hit Starz historical time travel drama as different from the previous seasons as the story will focus on how Claire and Jamie spent the 20 years of not being together. Interestingly, the actress confirmed that the couple will meet again, which would spark deep feelings and questions as per report by The Wrap. It can be recalled that the two were separated in time so it remains to be seen how they will feel about seeing each other after 20 long years.
The actress also revealed that fans will get to see Claire and husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) in her present timeline. She will also give birth to baby girl named Brianna. Lastly, Balfe teased that fans will see Claire practicing her profession as a surgeon this season.
Meanwhile, a report by The Herald confirmed that the stars behind "Outlander" Season 3 are currently filming the sixth episode. The team will reportedly head to South Africa this spring to film new episodes that involve a ship in the Caribbean. The news came from Diana Gabaldon, the author of the novel "Outlander."
Gabaldon is said to be working closely with the team behind the series but she refused to give away more details about what's coming this season apart from the filming schedule and location. That said, fans may need to wait for a few more weeks to months to get some new updates about their favorite TV show. "Outlander" Season 3 is slated to premiere this year though no official air date has been announced yet.
