If there is one thing Consumer Electronic Show 2017 at Las Vegas taught tech enthusiast is that artificial intelligence will play a big role this year. With that said Taiwan-based company, HTC has recently released two new flagships for their lineup, and it is not the HTC Ocean as some people predicted.
The Taiwanese company released HTC U Play and HTC U Ultra on Thursday. The company is betting big on its new AI assistant called Sense Companion, in which the company claims that it will learn usage behavior in time.
According to the company, users will have to manually perform an initial setup of Sense Companion on the flagship that includes setting up favorites contact and apps to train the AI. The AI will also learn the user's daily pattern and alert users ahead of time that the device needs charging.
IB Times reports that the device is the premium one out of the two flagships that will be released. The $749 smartphone has high-end features and specs such as a 5.7-inch display screen along with a Sapphire Glass display.
The Sapphire Glass display is a first for a smartphone to be having one, since the feature is only seen on smartwatches that the moment. The said feature will have a higher color contrast and is not easily starched.
The display screen also features Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a step-up to the company's previous variant that comes with a Gorilla Glass 4. HTC U Ultra's camera will be the same sported with the HTC 10, a 12-megapixel, 1.55 um pixels camera along with a phase-detection autofocus, laser-focusing, and a scratch-resistant Sapphire lens protection.
Other notable features for the HTC smartphone are 4GB of RAM, 64/128GB of internal storage, 300mAh battery, and One-touch fingerprint scanner. There are reports that the HTC U Ultra will be presented at the Mobile World Congress that will be held at Barcelona, Spain in February.
