A week from now, "Gravity Rush 2" will be released and, much like the first game, the sequel has drawn awesome reviews. Having said that, it is just proper for a video analysis to be posted online, measuring the upcoming title's frame-rate and comparing the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro versions.
Digital Foundry has granted "Gravity Rush 2" fans with a video analysis showcasing the game's performance. Beginning at 0:52, the highly awaited sequel runs at a near constant 30fps on both the PS4 and PS4 Pro. In the video, some rare moments and minor dips can be seen. Smoke, dust and other objects on-screen are also visible, but it never goes below 2-screen are also visible, but it never goes below 27fps.
"The majority of the experience is a completely locked 30 frames-per-second on both consoles," says Digital Foundry. In addition, there are no noticeable performance or visual flaws found in the game.
About "Gravity Rush 2's" resolution, regular PS4 owners will find a native 1080p. PS4 Pro owners, on the other hand, can go full-on 2160p on a 4K screen and 1080p on a 1080p screen with downsampling. As a result, players will get finer distant detail and cleaner edges.
"Gravity Rush 2" runs at 2160p on the Pro but, according to PlayStation Lifestyle, it may not look as clean as a native 4K image would actually suggest. "Essentially, it looks more as if the geometry pass is handled entirely at a native 4K, while all shading and other rendering passes are rendered at a lower resolution," Digital Foundry adds. For this reason, one would notice blur and pixelation within surfaces, but around it are clean and sharp edges.
Known in Japan as "Gravity Daze 2," the game will release on Jan. 18, 2017. "Gravity Rush 2" is developed by SIE Japan Studio and Project Siren, and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusively for PS4. Check out the video clip below.
