Square Enix has announced that the total shipment and digital sales of "Final Fantasy XV" have now topped six million units. This means that there were an additional one million units sold since it was released last November 2016.

Gamasutra has reported that the initial sales of "Final Fantasy XV" was strong. For the first day, it was able to sell five million units.

According to Gematsu, the announcement was made by Square Enix via a press release. Apart from the numbers, the company has also decided to announce the upcoming content of "Final Fantasy XV."

Square Enix first mentioned the free Holiday Pack, as well as the premium Holiday Pack+ DLC. These are now available for download. As previously reported, those who were able to acquire these DLC packs can get ticket for an upcoming "Final Fantasy XV" event. This is known as the Moogle Chocobo Event.

In the last few weeks, players had no idea what the event will be and when it will start. Now, according to the developers, the exciting event has been confirmed to take place in Altissia and will start on Tuesday, January 24. This will be for a limited time only. Square Enix has also announced that there will be upcoming updates, although there's nothing specific just yet. Nonetheless, they promised content that will give players additional gameplay experiences.

"Final Fantasy XV" presented a lot of differences from its predecessors. For one, gameplay had evolved; with fishing now a part of the game and turned into great side quests. The battle system was also new and, most of all, the graphics were superb.

Ten years in the making, "Final Fantasy XV" was originally known as "Final Fantasy Versus XIII." The game is now available for Xbox One and for PlayStation 4.
