Game developer The Coalition has just confirmed that there will be new and interesting changes to "Gears of War 4." This is very positive news for the franchise's gamers, especially after TC got itself into hot water just last month.

TC received a lot of backlash after it launched its Gearsmas offer -- which allows players to enjoy Christmas-themed items and armor -- on December 16 and then its new UIR Gear Pack on December 22. Just days apart, "Gears of War 4" gamers went up in arms and criticized the company for its greediness.

According to a previous report, The Coalition purposely launched Gearsmas before releasing the UIR Gear Pack so that gamers will no longer have any credits left for the latter offer. Without credit, players will have to purchase the Pack with actual money.

To appease their players, The Coalition promised that a new update that will bring new features will soon be rolled out. Windows Report stated that the patch can be expected in January, but TC has not confirmed any actual date as of yet.

It was PezRadar from TC who revealed that the upcoming update will include upgrades to the spectator mode, a multitude of bug fixes, quit bans/penalties, and a massive drop of new craftable card content. Plus, it will also reportedly feature hundreds of new character and weapon skins for gamers to enjoy to the fullest.

With regard to crossplay, TC had a "Gears of War 4" Crossplay Test Weekend last month. Judging from the feedback of those who participated in the said event, the test was a success. That said, The Coalition is expected to finally reveal its decision on crossplay by the end of the month.

It has also been reported that TC staff are discussing the UIR Pack structure, especially after the harsh criticism the company received from its fans. The company has not provided any details regarding this matter. Rest assured, TC will publish a blog post as soon as a decision has been made.
